What's the difference between the families?

Dev uses shared vCPU for development; Standard, premium shared for general purpose; Pro, dedicated vCPU for production; and Memory, dedicated and optimized for memory-intensive workloads.

How is it billed?

By the hour, paying only for the time the instance is running. No lock-in and no egress cost.

Can I use Windows?

Yes. The Windows licence is added to the instance (€40/vCPU/mo); on Linux there is no licence cost.

What technology do they run on?

On OpenStack (Nova), with a compatible API, Terraform and CLI, with no vendor lock-in.
